In 2003 – Founding of the company in September

  • Initiating and planning a public solar park of 4 MW.

In 2004

  • Development of our first module fastening systems
  • First trial construction of a single axis tracking system
  • Development of our first module fastening systems

In 2005

  • Construction of a fixed tilt ground-mounted installation in Hamburg, 510 kWp acting as subcontractors

In 2006

  • Construction of a 460 kWp tracking system located on a former military area acting as main contractor
  • Start of manufacture for a 2 MW public solar tracking installation

In 2007

  • 6 MW of installed capacity, 30 employees, 3 trainees
  • Export of mounting system for more than 10 MW
  • Partly installed on landfill sites

In 2008

  • Planning and construction of diverse large projects, for example 2 MW in Spain, further exports of our mounting system technology
  • Strengthening our work with solar water heating in Northern Germany and Denmark.
  • We extended the public solar park by 600 kWp, remarkably the own capital contribution was covered by the previously generated returns, which highly exceeded the predicted amounts.

In 2009

  • 50 employees, 4 trainees
  • Further ground-mounted projects including an installation on a landfill site in Neustadt-Glewe

  • Several ground-mounted installations in Northern Germany
  • Ground-mounted installation on a landfill site in Schmölln near Leipzig

SPR GmbH is a service partner of Sharp

Since 2008 we are a project service partner of Sharp, a pioneer of the solar industry and word leader in the production of solar cells.

MThe company’s European division “Sharp Energy Solution Europe” centrally co-ordinates their solar business from Hamburg. Their nearby proximity is an advantage that contributes to the co-operation with other manufactures we work closely with as well.

Our module fastening systems for example are manufactured in the Tondern-based plant of the Norsk Hydro Group and most of our string inverters are supplied by Danfoss Solar Inverters located in Sonderburg. With the FeCon GmbH in Flensburg, supplier of central inverters, we found another company that shares our pragmatic and integral approach to projects.


Almost 90% of our employees work hands-on as we do not want to limit ourselves to only planning and developing, we also want to manufacture and be involved. We believe this attitude combined with our openness and honest business behaviour is the reason for our customers and partners to favour long term planning with our company.


At the end of 2007 we were very happy to reach the second place at the »VR-Förderpreis Handwerk« receiving 3,000 €. We invested the prize money in training for our employees.

In 2008 we were nominated by the ministry of science, economy and transport of our region Schleswig-Holstein and we received the „Großen Preis des Mittelstandes“, an award for small and medium-sized businesses.


With our subsidiaries “SPU - SolarPark USA Inc.“ in California and SWG - Solaranlagen Wartungs-GmbH“ in the Hamburg / Lower Saxony regions we are well positioned and are looking forward to the future.
